This course is for people who want to develop proficiency in the basic skills needed to work in an aquaculture enterprise. The course provides vocational education and training in the practical skills required by a field hand, and the underpinning knowledge required to apply those skills in a variety of aquaculture specific workplace situations.

When you finish this course you will be able to perform the duties of a field hand working under general supervision and following routine processes and procedures. You will be able to work with stock in an aquaculture enterprise as well as apply basic food handling procedures, meet occupational health and safety requirements and communicate effectively.
