This short course is for people who want to start work in a cafe, coffee shop, restaurant or bar or for people who want to update or refresh their skills. You will learn about bar and restaurant preparation, coffee preparation skills and responsible service of alcohol.
This course is ideal for students leaving Year 12 and looking for full-time work in the hospitality industry or part-time work while studying next year.
Career Opportunities: Food and beverage attendant.
Articulation: When you finish this course you can apply for advanced standing in the THH21802 Certificate II in Hospitality (Operations)
or THH33002 Certificate III in Hospitality (Operations).
Entry Requirements: The NSW Liquor Act and Registered Clubs Act and Regulations requires students to be 18 years of age or older if they are undertaking modules that involve the service of alcohol. There are no formal educational requirements for this course.
