This course is for people who want to work in a catering/commercial kitchen. You will acquire the skills and knowledge needed for fundamental cookery duties including how to follow health, safety and security procedures and workplace hygiene. You will also learn to prepare and present food and clean and maintain premises.

Career Opportunities: Kitchen hand/food preparation assistant in a range of food outlets, including fast food takeaways, coffee shops, bistros, school canteens, patisseries, clubs, catering operations and restaurants.

Articulation: When you finish this course you can get advanced standing in the THH22002 Certificate II in Hospitality (Kitchen Operations), TAFE NSW course no: 2673.

Entry Requirements: NSW School Certificate (or equivalent from another educational authority).
