This course is for people working in or wanting to work in food preparation in any hospitality, community food service or health area.

You will learn how to follow the food hygiene procedures of a particular organisation, and handle food in a safe and hygienic manner.

You will also learn about the major causes of food poisoning and food spoilage, as well as the legal procedures and enterprise standards for all aspects of safe food handling.

Career Opportunities: Food handler.

Articulation: When you finish this course you may apply for advanced standing in a range of hospitality qualifications.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements for entry to this course.

Applying and Enrolling

This course will be offered commercially on a fee-for-service basis. Course commencement is subject to sufficient demand and usually runs at most locations continuously throughout the year.
