The RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) teaches you the skills and knowledge required to serve alcohol in a responsible manner.
It is endorsed by the Department of Gaming and Racing and Liquor Administration Board.
You will learn about responsible service strategies; the legal obligations of bar staff; and, the strengths and effects of alcoholic beverages and standard drinks.
You will also learn about smoking regulations and the benefits of responsible service strategies.
Career opportunities: This is an essential requirement for any job involving the service of alcohol to the public.
Articulation: When you have finished this course you can apply to do other TAFE PLUS beverage service courses or Hospitality Operations Certificates.
Entry Requirements: The NSW Liquor Act and the NSW Gaming Machines Act require students to be 18 years of age or older if they are undertaking modules that involve the service of alcohol and gaming operations. To comply with these legislative requirements, students must be 18 years of age or older to undertake the module in this course.
You should also have a level of English language that enables you to read and understand written legislative requirements.

Applying and Enrolling
This course will be offered commercially on a fee-for-service basis. Course commencement is subject to sufficient demand and usually runs at most locations continuously throughout the year.
