Title - Future Students

Women in TAFE

The North Coast Institute of TAFE is committed to supporting women to overcome barriers they may face in participating in vocational education and training.

Women involved in vocational education and training (VET) can explore their talents, develop new skills to open up their future, and equip themselves with current knowledge in their fields of interest. Women make valuable contributions to our world, so it's essential they have access to recognised qualifications, professional training and support to gain the rewards of the workplace.

NCIT projects are part of the TAFE NSW Strategic Directions for Women. They encourage women from diverse backgrounds to access VET opportunities. These women may be young to mature age, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, live in isolated areas, have a disability, from a non-English speaking background, have little previous education, or be in transition from fulltime family responsibilities or experiences such as domestic violence, illness or imprisonment.
