Margaret excelled in many ways. After her career of 22 years with Ansett was terminated unexpectedly in its very public closure. And with no previous post-secondary educational experience, Margaret enrolled in a Diploma in Children’s Services and absolutely stood out academically, achieving consistently high results – mainly distinctions.
Her personality and life experience enriched the learning outcomes of all in the class, who benefited from the support, common sense and informal leadership provided.
Thanks to Margaret’s leadership, a sun-safety project undertaken in the final semester of the course has had lasting benefits for everyone involved in course play sessions. They are all now better informed, and equipped for, healthy exposure to the sun in the outdoor environment.
