2006 Student Achievement Awards
The North Coast Institute’s Student Achievement Awards tonight recognises outstanding achievements by the top students out of nearly 40,000 students who enrolled in the Institute last year, so to be one of the top students from a field that size is a very special honour.
In selecting and nominating students, the Institute pays close attention not only to the academic success of the students, but also to their involvement on campus and in the community at large. We assess the students’ commitment to their personal goals and their career aspirations. This is because our community on the North Coast benefits both from increased skills and knowledge, and from people who are committed to sharing their knowledge and caring and supporting others around them so they too can benefit.
The Institute also includes an assessment of their commitment to environmental sustainability, as this is an important part of our strategic role in the North Coast community.
Excellence in learning helps advance our North Coast community, and our region in all aspects: socially, economically, culturally and environmentally. These awards recognise that excellence and honour the students who have achieved extraordinary results.
Many thanks to the sponsors, supporters and partners of the Institute who have contributed to not only this event but also to the ongoing success of the North Coast Institute in 2006.
