Grafton Campus 20th Jacaranda Market Day Event

Grafton Campus recently held its 20th Jacaranda TAFE Market Day. There were more market stall holders than ever before, almost 200 Displays were put on by the army and police, local bush fire brigades, and collectors of antique stationery engines. Music and entertainment were provided by Grafton Conservatorium Band, Grafton TAFE Music students, and local aboriginal groups provided displays on didgeridoo and dancing.

Past Principals, Deputy Principal and Directors from the Grafton Campus attended the official opening and the cutting of the Anniversary cake was made by Tom Dennis (Principal 1978 to 1988 ) and Heather Crawford (Deputy Principal from 1978 to 1986 ) Also attending the official opening were John Lester Principal/Cluster Director – ( 1988 to 1995 ), Don Philbrook Cluster Director/CEM ( 1995 to 2001 ) Wendy Bruszewski - Campus Manager ( 2002 - current ).

A large number of staff and students were involved assisting with the TAFE stalls such as the Used Books, Breakfasts and Devonshire teas, Ham Wheel, Cubby House Raffle, Kids Corner and Face painting. The staff and students have raised close to $10000 from the 2003 Jacaranda Market Day. Donations from these funds will be made to local charity groups and the funds used to provide equipment, learning resources and improved amenities for students.
