MAJOR STUDENT AWARDS AND NEW CAREER GUIDE
TO CELEBRATE TAFE WEEK
TAFE Week - August 3 – 9, 2003
The first week in August is TAFE Week, an opportunity for TAFE Campuses
throughout Australia to celebrate achievements and encourage potential
new students to visit campuses and learn more about what TAFE can offer.
The North Coast Institute will celebrate TAFE Week with the announcement
of the 2003 Student Achievement Award winners. Students are nominated
for awards based on their academic achievement, their campus and course
participation and also their career objectives and goals.
According to Institute Director Neil Black, the awards reveal the depth
of talent and commitment from students and teachers across the Institute.
“The 2003 winners have been chosen from 39,000 students who are
enrolled with the North Coast Institute and there are some inspiring
stories of commitment and dedication among people who have a career goal
and have chosen TAFE courses as the way to achieve that goal,” said
Mr Black.
The Awards ceremony on Thursday August 7, will see short listed students,
their teachers, supporters and business contacts from throughout the
north coast gather at the Coffs Harbour Education Campus for the announcement.
The North Coast Institute has also launched the new 2004 Career and
Study Options Guide to coincide with TAFE Week. The guide is an inspirational
summary of all the faculty areas, the career opportunities and potential
study paths available at all campuses throughout the Institute. The Guide
also contains success stories of past students.
“The Guide is a great snap shot of the wide variety or courses
and career options available through the North Coast Institute and anyone
considering a course next year is invited to visit their local campus
during TAFE Week to pick up a copy,” said Institute Promotions
Coordinator Carolyn Bax.
Many of the Institute campuses are holding open days, student BBQs and
demonstration activities during TAFE Week. For more information on activities
in your area contact your local North Coast Institute campus.
