The three judges, artist and sculptor Marguerite Derricourt, designer, Liane Rossler and artist/film maker Mark Titmarsh, were thrilled to see the variety of works from talented TAFE NSW students across the state. "It is evident that TAFE NSW is an energetic, vibrant environment for students, enabling them to engage with the contemporary world and communities and giving them the skills to reflect on past histories. It was a pleasure to see the levels of expert design, craft and art skills meshed with personal, political, environmental and aesthetic expression" said the judges. The Minister for Education and Training, Dr Andrew Refshauge, opened the 2004 finalists’ exhibition and announced the category and Grand Prize winner at a gala presentation on Thursday 25 November 2004.
