Thursday 11 November

Leigh Vaughan, Councillor and President of the Great Lakes Arts Network (GLAN), will officially open an exhibition of artwork produced by students studying in the Certificate IV in Fine Arts at the Great Lakes Campus of TAFE NSW’s North Coast Institute. Featured in the exhibition are works that reflect the different subjects studied throughout the year, including drawing the human figure, art photography, painting and sculpture.

The course was an exciting period for the students and has provided all with great experience, skills and knowledge in the disciplines of the art world. Student Jan Austin says, "One of the best parts of studying at TAFE is the inspiration and creativity among the students." This was a feeling echoed throughout the class.

The artwork will be on display until 29 th November in L block at the Great Lakes Campus, the Northern Parkway , Tuncurry. “We warmly invite the general public to view these works at the opening” says Head Teacher Sandra Guy. “It’s starts at 6pm on the 23 rd November, light refreshments will be served and you will be entertained by local classical guitarist David Fryatt. It should be a very enjoyable night for all.”

The exhibition will be open Monday to Friday 9am -4pm and many of the works are for sale.
