New nursing program delivers two top studentsMonday 4th OctoberIn a first for the mid-North Coast, the new Enrolled Nurses program at TAFE NSW-North Coast Institute’s Coffs Harbour Education Campus has resulted in two students topping the state in the final examination. Jenny Dalen and Deborah Minett, now both working in Taree, came first and second respectively in the Category A State Exam. Head Teacher for Nursing, Karyn O'Reilly says that this is a great result for all of their hard work. “It has also paid off all of the hard work put in by the nursing teachers,” Ms O’Reilly says. ‘12 months ago it was only a dream that the EN program would come to Coffs Harbour now that dream has been realised tenfold. We knew Jennie & Debra would do well as they shone from the 1st day, excelling despite many personal challenges along the way. The whole group however showed their exceptional dedication, commitment & teamwork by supporting each other above & beyond the call of duty.' Ms O’Reilly says that the North Coast Institute School of Nursing has been very busy over the last 12 months planning and building the clinical nursing lab at the Coffs Harbour Education Campus for the new Enrolled Nursing program.
