Scholarship for Kyrralee

Local girl Kyrralee Stapleton recently won a fantastic scholarship from Hospitality Training Network. Each year HTN selects three High School Certificate students, one from QLD, NSW and the ACT to be recipients of the prestigious Peter Howard Future Chefs Scholarship. This includes a weeks training and hands on experience at a leading International Hotel and also the opportunity to commence a Commercial Cookery apprenticeship. The scholarship was open to all year twelve students throughout NSW studying hospitality as part of their HSC.

Kyrralee has just completed two years study in TVET Hospitality at TAFE NSW North Coast Institute Port Macquarie Campus as part of her HSC, where she demonstrated passion and dedication in this area. According to teacher Wendy McKinlay, “Kyrralee showed great enthusiasm and commitment toward her studies and career as a future chef.”

Kyrralee is excited about this opportunity and is heading to Star City , Sydney in December to complete her weeks training. Kyrralee said, “she loves to work with food and is inspired by the creativity and freedom that cooking enables”. According to Kyrralee she loves cooking and when one of her teachers at Wauchope High advised her about the scholarship she thought it would be a great opportunity.
