‘Av an ‘art, Grand Finale exhibition

Wednesday 30th November

First time graduates from Arts & Media’s Advanced Diploma in Fine Art will be showcasing their artwork in a grand finale exhibition titled ‘Av an ‘Art at TAFE NSW North Coast Institute, Great Lakes Campus.  The exhibition will also present work produced by students studying selected modules at Diploma level.

“This year the quality of the work is outstanding, reflecting the advanced level of study.  There is great individuality seen in the work” said Head Teacher, Sandra Guy.

This is the first time the Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts has been held in this region and the students, some of whom have travelled great distances to attend, feel the course has been a great success.  This is demonstrated in the exciting and diverse display of works which include prints, drawings, paintings and some 3D forms.

Student, Carmel Lewis feels that the works in the exhibition are the physical manifestation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s words, “The world only exists in your eyes - your conception of it.  You can make it as big or as small as you want to.”

ABC presenter, Cameron Marshall will officially open the exhibition at 6pm on Friday December 2 in L Block at the Great Lakes Campus, The Northern Parkway, Tuncurry.

The general public are welcome to attend, with musical accompaniment on the evening by classical guitarist David Fryatt and light refreshments will be provided.
This would be an excellent opportunity to purchase original works of art for reasonable prices.

The exhibition continues until December 14, Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm.  For more information contact Sandra Guy on 6555 0616.
