IT Diploma ‘Gives freedom to move’

When Coffs Harbour student Sam Jorna decided to pursue a career in Information and Communication Technology, he enrolled in the Diploma of Information Technology at TAFE North Coast Institute’s Coffs Harbour Education Campus.  Three months later he was chosen to undertake an IT Traineeship at John Paul College.

Sam was able to transfer his full time studies, to the online course at CHEC, giving him the opportunity to not only continue his Diploma, but also to gain real life experience at John Paul College (JPC).

“Since we employed Sam as a Trainee, he has been given more and more responsibility”, Mr Ian Walton, Principal of JPC said.  “He is now instrumental in delivering all aspects of IT Support within the school, including the running of our newly installed helpdesk system”.

“The flexibility of online study at TAFE has really given me a great opportunity to surge ahead in my IT career”, said Sam.  “I can still gain my Diploma, and get hands on experience at John Paul College” he added.
