TAFE EXHIBITION EXSTRAVAGANZA

Monday 12th September

It’s that time of the year when TAFE NSW - North Coast Institute, Great Lakes Campus, Arts & Media section, put on fantastic displays of Visual and Fine art. The series of exhibitions will commence with a show titled “Flow”, produced by students who have been studying the Certificate IV in Fine Art. The exhibition will officially be opened by Manning Regional Gallery Director, Sue Mitchell on 20 September at 6pm.

“Flow” features drawings, paintings, printmaking and sculpture in a variety of styles and is the culmination of 1-2 years of learning. Students have travelled from Pacific Palms, Taree and as far away as Bootawa to take advantage of the excellent curriculum and teaching in the Arts & Media section. Age too, is no barrier with students ranging from 17 to 75.

“You can grow from the learning experience of others in the class and the qualified teachers that are artists as well. We have learnt to go with the flow and incorporate this fluidity into our works. Working with Visual Art opens different dimensions to the world around us”, says one of the exhibitors.

The students believe a lot of hard work has gone into their art this year and some works will be for sale at affordable prices. The general public is invited to the opening night where light refreshments and entertainment will be provided. The exhibition continues until 14 October and is open daily from 9am-4pm.

Come and see the real thing at L Block, Great Lakes Campus.
