Older unemployed targeted with two new TAFE courses
Wednesday 10th August
Two new courses are being offered specially for low income earners (45 years and older) seeking employment in the Clarence Valley. The initiative is aimed at skills shortage areas and TAFE NSW-North Coast Institute has been successful in attracting extra funding from the Department of Education and Training (DET) Targeted Training Initiative to run the courses.
Acting Campus Manager for Grafton and Trenayr, Kayleen Stephenson, says “We’re very pleased to have gained this additional funding, as it enables us to fill local demand for specific skills training.”
A course in Engineering – Production Systems is being offered at Grafton Campus and a Certificate II course in Conservation & Land Management is being offered at Trenayr Campus.
There are twelve places available in each course and both courses run to the end of the year, with no cost to participants.
Eligible people can contact 131 601 for further information.
TAFE NSW-North Coast Institute has also attracted funding to run a Certificate III course in Disability Works at Lismore Campus, and courses in Aged Care Work and Hospitality Operations at Ballina Campus.
