Mid Coast Worldskills Team Attend Orange Competition

Regional winners from the open Mid Coast WorldSkills regional competitions attended a skills development camp in Orange in preparation for the National Competition.
The State Skills Development Program held in Orange on 2 -3 December 2005 brought together the regional winners to further develop skills and demonstrate skills excellence. The two days were full of activity and were up to 14 hours in duration.
The program took the form of a public display with the regional winners participating at one venue in many other open categories and 12 VET in Schools State finals (VETIS).Students from a variety of mid Coast schools competed for a place in the NSW VETIS Worldskills competition held in Melbourne May 2006.
Students competing from Port Macquarie Campus were accompanied by teachers Donna DeMaria (Hairdressing) and David Baker (Commercial Cookery) and included:
Giarna Allport (who works at Clippers Men's and Ladies Hairdressing in Taree), Erin Cunningham (who works at Taree RSL Club), Todd Cremer (who works at Sails Resort) and Annalea McGilvray (Anna has just completed a one year full time course Cert IV Beauty at the Port Macquarie Campus)
