Amber has the answer – an award

Thursday 1 June 2006

Kempsey Campus TAFE student Amber Priestley has won the Community Services and Health Faculty Student Achievement Award in the 2006 TAFE NSW – North Coast Institute Student Achievement Awards.

The Student Achievement Awards were announced at an Awards dinner held at the Osprey Restaurant, at Coffs Harbour Education Campus on 1 June. The awards recognise outstanding achievements in academic effort, community involvement and career commitment and go to students in individual Institute Faculties and in five other major categories.

The Kempsey student, who now lives in Newcastle so she can continue her studies at the University of Newcastle, completed her Diploma in Community Service Work in 2005. Teacher Jodie Sherrin said that Ms Priestley, a teenage student, undertook an awesome education program while juggling parenting responsibilities and was an excellent team-player who showed respect and co-operative skills and got deeply involved in some very important community projects.
