Hospitality Networking Evening
Tuesday 28 August
Have you ever wondered about a career in hospitality? Do you love to travel? Or are you an employer seeking skilled staff with hard earned qualifications in all aspects of the hospitality industry? If so, you are invited to attend a networking evening on Tuesday 12th September at the Port Macquarie TAFE Campus. The evening is being conducted by the students of the Hospitality Management Diploma and will be held in the coffee academy in C Block from 6pm to 8pm.
“The hospitality industry is constantly evolving and this informal event allows local businesses to gather information on available courses whilst enjoying the company of colleagues” said Head Teacher, Amanda Simm. “It is also a great opportunity to showcase the TAFE facilities and discuss course options available to employers seeking training for their staff.”
During the evening, special guest speaker Stewart Clark (Teacher and qualified Barista) will address the guests in relation to the Graduate’s Coffee Academy and the Barista courses that are on offer. He will also speak about the upcoming International Golden Bean Competition. One of our international students, Megumi Terui, who is currently attending the Campus, will discuss her time in Port Macquarie and what her course entails.
“We hope that the night’s events will tantalise our guests’ taste buds and intrigue the interests of Hospitality hopefuls,” Said Ms Simm. “We’re serving up some delicious canapés courtesy of our Commercial Cookery students, and our hospitality students will be there to serve beer, wine and espressos.”
Ms Simm also said that she saw the evening as a great opportunity for current students to showcase their skills to local employers. “It will also provide updated information about TAFE courses that are relevant to local hospitality operations.”
Anyone planning to attend is asked to RSVP (for catering purposes) to Gail Whitehouse on 6581 6265.
