Not to be missed: Artist John Dahlsen opens graduating exhibition

Friday 9 November 2007

At 6 pm on Friday November 16, internationally recognised local artist John Dahlsen will open the exhibition “Blended Space” at Still @ the Centre, Waywood Framing and Gallery, Byron Bay.

This exhibition is the culmination of work produced over a course of intensive study by students graduating from the Diploma of Visual Arts, TAFE NSW-North Coast Institute, Arts & Media section, Murwillumbah Campus.

Head Teacher, Sandra Guy says that the diverse artwork, including painting, ceramics, printmaking, sculpture and digital imagery is sure to inspire anyone attending the exhibition.

“The course has been an exciting period for the students who have been expanding their knowledge through exploration, experience and self- discovery,” says Ms Guy.

Student Tali Cohen-Flantz says “It has been an extensive and rewarding year for all the students.  We’ve all grown and learnt so much together”.

Ms Guy said that this was a feeling echoed throughout the class.

Waywood Framing and Gallery and the artists warmly invite the general public to join them for the official opening on Friday 16th November at 6pm.  During the course of the evening guests can meet the artists and enjoy the entertainment and light refreshments.  If you miss the opening you can still get to see the exhibition through to Saturday December 1, at 3 Centennial Circuit-A & I Estate Byron Bay, from Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm.

The exhibition is proudly supported by local business from Byron Bay to the Tweed Coast.  For more information please contact Still @the Centre, Waywood Framing and gallery on (02) 66855808 or still@the-centre.com.au
