Cinema in the Vines aids Drought Relief
Monday 2nd October 2007
Events Management students from the Port Macquarie TAFE Campus in conjunction with Bago Vineyards Wauchope have the pleasure of announcing the annual Cinema in the Vines. Held on Saturday 6th October, the event features legendary 1982 Australian film ‘The Man from Snowy River’.
This year’s Cinema in the Vines is a fundraising event with all proceeds donated to Aussie Helpers National Drought Relief. The charity does remarkable work throughout the country aiding drought affected communities and raising awareness of the drought situation.
“Although the Mid North Coast has been blessed with recent high rainfall, the reality is that 70% of Australia is still in drought”, said Jim Mobbs, owner of Bago Vineyards. “As vignerons we know only too well the impact that weather can have on our livelihood”.
Due to the affect that drought has on families, this year's Cinema in the Vines showcases a range of entertainment for all ages.
“We are excited to be involved with this event and to be working with Bago Vineyards for the second year running” said head teacher Amanda Simm. “The added benefit is that the students will also be working for a worthy cause whilst gaining industry experience in all facets of events management.”
