Monday 29 January 2007
The Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery was jam-packed with visitors on Australia Day, eager to see a unique and diverse display of the work of ten TAFE staff members from Coffs Harbour Arts and Media teaching section.

The exhibition, titled “All Sorts”, featuring a range of paintings, prints, sculpture, furniture and ceramics, was opened by TAFE NSW-North Coast Institute Director, Elizabeth McGregor. Other speakers included Mayor of Coffs Harbour City Council, Keith Rhoades and Manager of the TAFE NSW-North Coast Institute Arts and Media Faculty Manager Gordon Amann.

Ms McGregor said that the exhibition represented the “wonderful talents of our teachers of Arts and Media’ and clearly indicated that “the students were in excellent hands”.

“This terrific exhibition is also a great example of the collaboration that exists between TAFE, Council and the community in general”, said Ms McGregor.

Ms McGregor thanked the Gallery and Council for its hard work in ensuring that the exhibition was successfully staged, and congratulated the team of teachers, led by Head Teacher Phil Greed, for teaming together so well to produce such a high-quality exhibition.

Gordon Amann, Faculty Manager for Arts and Media, highlighted the efforts made by staff during the vacation period to create such wonderful work in time for the exhibition. He also acknowledged the strong support Regional Gallery Director Leigh Summers provides to the TAFE arts programs.

Exhibitors included the late Robyn Albuquerque, Gordon Amann, Cate Edwards, Julio Garcia, Phil Greed, Kate Naylor, John Mawhinney, Chris Murray, Julie Nash, Graham Patterson, Ray Rixon, Rob Slingsby, Martin Tomasoni and J.P. Willis.
