TAFE NSW supports Innovation in the Northern Rivers

Friday 7th May 2008

TAFE NSW has thrown its support behind Innovation Northern Rivers – an annual festival giving local business-people, entrepreneurs and inventors new insights into the benefits of innovative business practices.

Representatives from North Coast TAFE were on hand at the event to offer advice on the best courses of study to develop or refine your great idea or innovation.

“Innovation is the key to continual growth in business,” North Coast TAFE director, Elizabeth McGregor said.

“TAFE has a long history of supporting regional economies and helping to grow businesses in regional Australia by offering relevant and accessible training.

“We are fortunate here at North Coast TAFE to have exceptionally talented teaching staff who encourage students to think creatively and innovatively.”

Innovation Northern Rivers was held on May 6, 2008 at Ramada Hotel and Suites, 2 Martin St, Ballina.

Innovation Northern Rivers offered seminars and workshops offering advice on:

  • the value of innovation and value-adding to business development and success;
  • how to encourage greater innovation in business and in regional development;
  • how networking, clustering, skill development, investment, marketing and export can help grow your business.

A free seminar and a one-on-one consultation with innovation support professionals was also offered to anyone with a new or improved product, service or process that is looking for help to move towards commercialisation.
