David Carson -Surfer and graphic designer
The world’s first course in Surf Design is being offered at North Coast TAFE’s Kingscliff Campus, situated between the surf meccas of Byron Bay and the Gold Coast.
Kingscliff Design’s Head Teacher Sandra Guy says that the course is a unique chance for anyone interested in entering the surf design industry, and provides introductory skills in design and computer graphics orientated to the niche industries of surf, skate and snow fashion and graphics.
“During the course you will develop your own surf, skate or snow brand, produce designs for logos, T-shirts, fabric and other wearables,” says Ms Guy.
The course will be run two days a week for 18 weeks in semester one 2008 and will include guest lecturers from the surf, skate, snow industries.
“Environmentally sustainable practices and green technology in the surf industry will be promoted and supported as part of the course,” says Ms Guy.
An information session and an enrolment day will be held at Kingscliff Campus in room GG05 10 -12pm on February 7. For more information please contact Stacy Pollard on 66747272 or stacy.pollard@tafensw.edu.au or Sandra Guy on 66747273 or Sandra.guy@tafensw.edu.au
