Studying Online

Online Learning is Internet Based Education.

The North Coast Institute uses web-based materials designed to engage and stimulate the learner, not simply a collection of resources. Students are supported and guided in their learning by teachers with interaction by email, forums and chat groups.

The Institute has introduced a new online tutorial for students in library/online research skills. Called Searchpath, the tutorial helps redress the disadvantage some students suffer from not having a library handy by introducing students to the library resources the Institute provides online access to.

Students also have access to support services through their local campus. Details of the range of services available are included in the Institute's Student Information booklet.

Learning Anytime, Anywhere.

Online courses and modules can be accessed from home, in the workplace or at the learning institution. This allows students in many different situations to continue their education at a time, and in a way, that meets their individual needs.

Online Study Patterns.

North Coast Institute online course and module study patterns range from "Online" via the internet to "on-campus" web-based materials which support face-to-face learning. Courses and modules may be delivered in "Blended Learning" - a blend of online delivery with scheduled face-to-face workshops, block learning, practicals or face-to-face teaching. The aim is to provide a range of flexible online study patterns which meet the needs of North Coast Institute customers.
