This course is equivalent to 2 units towards Preliminary and/or 2 units HSC
This course is for people who want the foundation skills to enter the film and television industry. Students will acquire basic production skills, sound recording, video recording and/or operational skills. They will also develop an understanding of the film and television industry, and will learn how to carry out health, safety and security procedures relevant to the industry.
Career Opportunities: Video production assistant, sound production assistant.
Pathways: This course provides advanced standing into related studies at Certificate III level.
What is this course about? What will students be doing?
Depending on modules chosen, students will gain the skills and knowledge to:
- develop and apply industry knowledge
- follow occupational and safety and security procedures
- operate a basic video camera
- operate a portable audio recorder
- operate the clapperboard
- prepare and participate in an electronic media activity
- edit digital video
- transfer sound
- provide first aid
- produce and manipulate digital images.
